George S. Campion, age 91, of Leawood, KS, passed away June 17, 2011. He was born on September 27, 1919, in KCMO, the son of Corinne Harriett (Dabney) and John Francis Campion. George was raised in KCMO, and graduated from Rockhurst High School. He served as a First Lieutenant U.S. Army during World War II. On December 15, 1944, he was united in marriage to Joy Ann Terry. He joined his father as a commercial real estate broker until his retirement in 1985. He was an active member of the Rotary Club and the Catholic Church throughout his life. He enjoyed golf, friends, family and entertained others with his lively sense of humor. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Joy Ann; daughters, Janet Campion, of Tucson, AZ, and Debbie Craig, of Denver, CO; sons, Terry, of Overland Park, KS, Tom Campion and John Campion, of Lee's Summit, MO; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, James Campion. We will always love and miss him very much. Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Cure of Ars Church, 9401 Mission Rd, Leawood, KS 66206. Visitation will be held one hour prior.
