George N. Michale, 83, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016, with his wife Carrie at his side. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016, at 10:00am at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 12001 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Preceding him in death is his sister and her husband, Dimitra & Sam Tzakis. George is survived by: his wife, Carrie Trivelas Michale; his mother-in-law Despina Trivelas; his sister Alexis and her husband Dr. Thomas Lelon; his four children, Nick Michale and his wife Kim, Cyndee Rainbolt, Christy Ulrich and her husband Phil, and Dan Michale and his wife Amy; his nine grandchildren, Kelly Jane and Brodie Michale, Christopher, Anna and Alyssa Rainbolt, Grace Michale, Kamryn, Kylie and Kenzy Ulrich; and his two great grandchildren, Channing and Cullen Rainbolt and a host of nieces and nephews. George’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Brookdale Rehab Center of Overland Park for their outstanding care and compassion during his stay.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on March 30, 1933, he was the son of the late Nick and Mary Michale. George attended the University of Kansas on a four-year football scholarship and was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. He later joined the United States Army and proudly served our country. George was a successful Life Insurance agent for 62 years and dedicated much of that time to his own business, The George Michale Agency, alongside his wife and two sons. His dedication earned him multiple opportunities to travel abroad to many exciting places. In 1983 he married his soulmate Carrie with whom he happily shared the next 33 years of his life. He loved traveling, taking road trips and numerous adventures with his four children. His grandchildren will always remember his amazing musical ability on the microphone and piano and also his special talent of playing Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
