George B. Redd, 84, Overland Park, Kansas passed away March 17, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO. A gathering for family and friends will begin an hour prior to the service, also at the church. George requested memorial contributions be sent to Literacy & Evangelism International, 1800 S. Jackson Ave., Tulsa, OK 74107.
George was born on August 19, 1929 to Myron and Catherine Redd and received his high school education in Marceline, MO, graduating in 1947. Immediately following high school he enrolled in the pharmaceutical program at UMKC and after graduating from there, he went on to serve our country for the U.S. Coast Guard.
George was a member of Colonial Presbyterian Church for over 50 years, a Mason A.F.A.M. of Kansas for Overland Park, KS Lodge 436, and in his spare time enjoyed being involved in the Matt Ross Cribbage Club.
George leaves behind his wife, Martha; daughter, Lore (Michael) Nelson; son, Brook (Kristin) Redd; and five grandchildren, Bradley Nelson, Graham Nelson, Ethan Redd, Kayla Redd and Alyssa Redd.
