George T. Wanninger, 97, Leawood, passed away Thursday, February 07, 2008.
George was born October 31, 1910 in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and Dora (Regner) Wanninger. Lovingly married for 36 years to wife Thelma (Thomas), who passed away in 1969. In 1935 he was transferred to St. Louis by Procter & Gamble. Later employed in various management positions by Rice Stix and Ely Walker, he moved to Nashville in 1966 as Vice President with Red Cap. Over the years, he served on the board of many professional organizations. In 1988, he married Loretta Kistner.
George is survived by his wife Loretta, Nashville, son Jerry (Thelma) Wanninger of Overland Park, KS, daughter Judith Shubert of Phoenix, AZ, 4 grandchildren, Lee Ann Green, Dean Wanninger, Steven Herrmann, and Andrew Shubert, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and 5 step children and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma, daughter Jean Herrmann, and granddaughter Sandra Brooks. Internment at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
