Gary joined his Savior Jesus Christ after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Gary is survived by his wife, Janet Worley. He is also survived by five children; Lori Young (Tim) and children LeAnn Davis(Matt) (Matilyn, Myra), Andrew Young (Stephanie); Sherry Chapa (Noe); Gary Worley (Wendy) and daughter Alicia (Chris) Gaertner; Christi Smith (Chris)and son Trey; Mike Worley (Chandra) and sons Jacob, Tyler, Cooper.
Gary was the eldest of thirteen children. His parents and four siblings preceded him in death. He is survived by Carolyn Hoveous (Dale); Tommy Worley (Wanda); Mary Lou McConnell (Doug); Judy Misner (Dave); David Worley (Karen); Barbara Henck (Barney); Kathy Medina (Paul); all of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Buddy Worley of St. Paul, MN, plus many nieces, nephews and friends.
Gary enjoyed his 38 years at Western Electric/Southwestern Bell. After retirement in 1991, He worked for Bruce Smith Drugs, ITI, and Sam's Club. He loved sports and coached his children's football, baseball, and basketball teams.
Gary was proud to serve his Lord as a preschool Sunday school teacher at Blue Valley Baptist Church. He also served as an usher at Lenexa Baptist Church where he was a member.
He was honored to serve in the Army Signal Corp during the Korean War. Gary we love you and miss your beautiful smile.
Services will be Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will begin at 11AM with services Noon to 1PM.
Burial to follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 2:30PM. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Associations of Kansas.
