Gertrude G. Whitt, 85, Overland Park, passed away Friday, May 1, 2009.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Oak Grove Assembly, 4740 Mohawk Dr., Roeland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Monday, May 4, 2009 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park. Interment in Floral Hills Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri.
Gertrude, the daughter of William Oliver and Onia Blankenship, was born April 6, 1924 in Pomp, Kentucky. She married Delmer Whitt in 1949, he preceded her in death April 7, 1978.
Survivors include three sons, Kenneth (June) Whitt, Lenexa, KS, Gary Whitt, Kansas City, KS, Tim (Cindy) Whitt, Granbury, TX; 7 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Gary's wife, Betty. Arr. D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 913-451-1860.
