Glen Adams

Glen E. Adams, 89, of Kansas City, Kansas died at St. Luke's South Hospital February 17, 2016.

Glen was born November 8, 1926 in Roosevelt Oklahoma, to Luther Bert and Mary Adams. He was drafted by the Army his senior year of high school. He returned to Oklahoma at the end of World War II and attended college, graduating from Bethany (Southern) Nazarene University. On June 29, 1950 he married Reatha A. Browning.

Glen was one of 7 siblings. He grew up during the depression and “Dust Bowl” era. He spent time pastoring in several Nazarene churches in Oklahoma and Kansas. He moved his family to Kansas City in 1964 where he began his teaching and administrative career. Glen was a member of Central Church of the Nazarene in Lenexa, Kansas where he was an active member many years.

Glen is survived by four children, Jannifer Nelson, San Diego, California, Reginald Adams (Delia), Overland Park, Kansas, Melodie Cole (Paul), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Cherri Stoltzfus (Byron), Lenexa, Kansas; his grandchildren, Paul Cole III (Erin), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Glen Gabriel Cole, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brittni Girk (Stu), Lenexa, Kansas, Brooke Cole, Broken Arrow, OK,  Kyli Fink (Russ), Leavenworth, Kansas; and his great grandson, Wesley Jay Fink, Leavenworth, Kansas.

Glen was preceded in death by his wife Reatha (Browning) Adams, his brothers and sisters, and his grandson, Byron Jay Stoltzfus.

The visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 20th, at Central Church of the Nazarene, 12600 West 87th Street Parkway, Lenexa, Kansas. The funeral service will follow at 11a.m. with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery.
