Glenn Orville Agee, 95, of Overland Park, KS passed away Friday October 9, 2020 at his home. Visitation will be 1-2pm Thursday October 15th followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave. Burial will be in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
Orville Agee was born in Effingham, Kansas, October 26, 1924. He lived in Atchison, KS with his parents, brother and 4 sisters. In July of 1943 he went into the US Navy for 29 months and served 26 months in the South Pacific. He was a Seaman 2nd Class & Helmsman on the Escort U.S.S. Le Hardy (DE-20). He participated in the capture of Tarawa, Gilbert Islands 1943; Kwajalein & Eniwetok, Marshall Group 1944 where he received a Metal w/2 Battle Stars. After the war he moved to Kansas City, Mo and worked in his brother's restaurant. In 1947, he married the love of his life Dorothy H. Dean on August 30th for 73 years. In 1950 they moved to Overland Park, KS. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy H. Agee, his two children: son David Agee (wife Kathryn); his daughter Carrie Agee; his two grandsons: John Agee; James Agee (wife Deanna) and great grandson Ashton Agee all of Overland Park.
