Glenna Wylie

Glenna Yvonne Wylie, age 76, passed away on December 21, 2012 at her home after a brief battle with cancer.
Glenna was born in Kansas City, MO on Feb. 1, 1936 to Velma and Jess Gilliland. She graduated from Raytown High School in 1954 and on July 3, 1964 was married to Jack Wylie, who survives of the home.
Glenna loved sports and was an avid tennis player and snow skier and excelled at golf, having hit 4 hole in ones. She and her husband for the last 18 years have spent their winters at their home in Indian Wells, CA where Glenna played golf at their Indian Wells Country Club. Glenna had a great love of animals and during their 48 years of marriage, she and Jack were never without a pet. The Wellness Center at Wayside Waifs was funded by Glenna.
In addition to her husband, Glenna is survived by her daughter Tammera Beaty and husband Mike of Blairstown, MO and her stepdaughter Stephanie Wright and husband Ray of Lusby, MD, 4 grandchildren, Ryan Hayes and wife Holly, Rachelle Hayes, Thaddeus Wright and Lauren Wright, and 5 great grandchildren. Her most important treasure was her puppy "Wylie" who is still looking for her in their home. Glenna was a real treasure to all that knew her and she never had a bad word for anyone.
A memorial service will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 28, 2012 at The Church of the Resurrection Wesley Covenant Chapel, 13720 Roe Ave. Leawood, KS 66206 conducted by Penny Ellwood. In lieu of flowers please make your donation to the Kansas City Hospice House, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, KC, MO 64114. They were wonderful to Glenna in her last days.
