Grace Hanna
October 14, 1930 — January 12, 2018
Grace Pearl Hanna, born Grace Pearl Caldwell on October 14th, 1930 in Chartiers Township, Houston, Pennsylvania, Died January 12th, 2018. She was the daughter of Arthur Blaney Caldwell and Sara Flemming Caldwell. Brothers Jess Caldwell and Mark Caldwell, (Both deceased) and Sister Coral Smith. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 46 years, Robert Lyman Hanna, who died in 1999.
Grace and Robert have two Sons, Timothy R. Hanna (Tim) and Donovan R. Hanna (Don)

Don’s Family - Wife Jodi, Daughters Sara and Alyssa, Son Joshua.
Grace attended Sterling College, Sterling Kansas, and graduated with a BA in education. This is where she met Robert and they were married June 6th 1952.
She taught Home Economics at Sterling High School for 5 years. Sterling is also the birthplace of their son Tim. They moved to Manhattan, Kansas where Robert earned his MS at Kansas State University. Manhattan is the birthplace of their son Don.
From here they moved to Topeka, Kansas where she taught 1st grade at Tecumseh elementary in the Shawnee Heights School district.
In the summer of 1974, they moved to Stilwell, Kansas and she began a 22 year teaching career in the Blue Valley school district. During her teaching tenure Grace earned a MA in education from the University of Kansas. She Initially taught at Stanley elementary, and then moved to and help open Morse Elementary. All total she taught for 33 years with the majority of them as a 1st grade teacher.
Grace and Robert were charter members of the Presbyterian Church of Stanley until they retired and moved to Glendora, California.
Grace was blessed to be cared for in Tim’s home in California. Honorariums to Hospice Care, and the Blue Valley Education Foundation are being established in her name.
Extended Family
Sterling College is also where several of their siblings attended college where several of them met their future spouses. Grace’s sister Coral and Brother Mark also attended Sterling College. Coral met and married Ben Smith, who had gone to sterling after just returning from WWII. Roberts Sisters, Florence and Ruth attended Sterling College as well, Florence met and later married Ollie G. Hill, and Ruth met and later married Ed Wilcox.
