Mrs. Grace Howard

Grace C. Howard was born to Stephen Halstead and Laura Stefan Halstead on March 13, 1923, in Brooklyn, NY. Grace graduated from Green Mountain College in 1942. She married Robert C. Howard in 1948 and, during their 61 years together, they lived in New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Illinois, California and Kansas. After moving to Kansas, Grace served as a volunteer at The Meadows Nursing Home on 103rd Street in Overland Park, Kan., for many years. Grace is preceded in death by her grandparents and by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Robert; sister- in-law, Agnes Howard of Bethel, Conn.; and her extended Kansas family, Jim, Mary Ann and Rebecca Reichenbach, as well as many friends. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to City Union Mission or The Salvation Army. Arrangements by: D.W.
