Grace Nicholl

Grace W. Nicholl, age 90, of Overland Park, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Ave., Overland Park, Kan. A visitation will begin an hour prior to service times. Cremation, private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association, 4300 S.W. Drury Lane, Topeka, KS 66604.

Grace was born April 8, 1918, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Mills College in 1939. She was married to Thomas H. Nicholl for 59 years. She lived in Leawood over 50 years. She was an avid tennis player, gardener, and community volunteer. She loved birds, science, and natural history.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; son Jack Nicholl and wife Carol; daughter Margaret Rutledge and husband Bill; daughter Carolyn "Lynn" Alberts and husband Lee; daughter Christine Karlberg and husband Barry; daughter Catherine "Kate" Waddle and husband Thomas; 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
