Gregory ?Shane? Slayline, age 35, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at home among family and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1st at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be held 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 29th at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Shane?s name be made to St. Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude?s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Shane was born March 11, 1972 in Dallas, Texas. He was married to his wife, Lori, on March 13, 1998. He was blessed with their son, Derek Gregory, born November 22, 2000 and a beautiful daughter, Stefani Ann. Shane was an electrician at General Motors, Fairfax, for almost 7 years.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fayette and Mary D. Lawson.
Survivors include his wife, Lori Ann Slayline; son, Derek Gregory; daughter, Stefani Ann; his parents, Gregory W. and Bobbie J. Slayline of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; a sister, Nicole L. Slayline of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; one niece, Savannah Rain; three nephews, Nathaniel, Levi, and Mack Joseph, all of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; and his grandmother, Elda Fought of Olathe, Kansas.
So very important to Shane?s family is that Shane would want to acknowledge the host of friends and co-workers whom he cared so deeply for until the end. The world was a better place with Shane in it. Our loss is heaven?s gain.
