Gwen Echard

Gwen Stephenson Echard, 85, formerly of Overland Park, Kansas passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona on June 24, 2022.  Gwen was born on July 14, 1936, to Eugene and Mabel Helen Stephenson.  Gwen was a special education teacher in school districts in Kansas and Missouri for 40 plus years before her retirement.  A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 13th at 2 p.m. at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, KS  66210.  A Reception will be held after the Celebration of Life at Johnnie’s 6765 W 119th St, Overland Park, KS 66209.

Gwen was predeceased by her parents and three siblings: Phil, Faye, and Ariel.  She is survived by her five children: Mark Schraad and his wife, Kristen; Carol Schraad-Dahn and her husband, David Dahn; Keith Schraad; Diane Schraad-Mason and her husband, Greg Mason; Daryl Schraad.  She leaves 12 Grandchildren: Jay Schraad, Megan Schraad, Jeff Mason, Madeline Jones, Jonathan Mason, Jack Schraad, Sidney Mason, Oliver Schraad, Avery Schraad, Hudson Schraad, Dax Schraad and Tessa Schraad.  She also leaves 10 Great Grandchildren: Angelis Schraad, Naylah Schraad, Aaron A Elmore Jr., Malachi Renio, Eloise Renio, Korden Renio, Zayda Schraad, Alistair Schraad, Rhea Jones, and Wyatt Mason and one Great-Great Grandson, Damon Schraad.  Gwen also leaves one brother, Owen Stephenson who lives in California.
