Dale Owings, 86, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at his home in Leawood surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Covenant Chapel (East Building), 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, KS 66224. Reception to immediately follow.
Dale was born on July 17, 1927, in Kansas City, MO, to Dick and Anita Owings. He attended schools in Parkville and Kansas City, MO graduating from Paseo High School. He served in the US Navy, after which he attended the University of Kansas graduating with a degree in business. The majority of his professional career was spent in sales, ultimately becoming the owner of Professional Data Control.
He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection (COR) and an active member of the Ararat Shrine including the Royal Order of the Jesters. Other interests were playing the saxophone in the Ararat Dance Band, water and snow skiing, tennis, golf and traveling. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carol; two children, Greg (Anita) Owings and Lori (Michael) Mulhern; and four grandchildren, Matthew Owings, Collin Owings, Connor Mulhern and Meghan Mulhern.
