Harold Joseph Davis, Jr.; "Joe", "Papaw", and "Dad" to those who loved him, and he adored, joined his Heavenly Father on November 13, 2022.
Dad was born in 1942 and raised near Somerset, Pennsylvania to Nora Mae and Harold Senior. He joined the United States Air Force (USAF) to serve and protect the country he loved in 1961. Significant assignments included two tours in the Vietnam Conflict in Saigon and Da Nang. His favorite assignments were Wiesbaden, Germany and Okinawa, Japan.
He married his beloved wife Donna Sue in 1967 on Guam. Together they raised two children, Brian (1971) and Jaime (1978). Dad retired from the USAF in 1981 in Kansas. Work and providing for his family were paramount to him. He continued his long career by working for WaterOne. He retired again in 2007 and became a grandfather the following year. His favorite pastimes included stamp collecting, spending time with Mom as she sews, collecting classic American car memorabilia, and spending time with his loving grandchildren Kiefer (2008) and Ali (2010), and his dog Oliver.
His final years were a physical and emotional battle, but he was lovingly cared for by Mom every day. Those who met Mom and Dad felt their kindness and love. Dad was proud of his military service and his country, his children, and his wife. He will be dearly missed, but he gifted us with stubbornness, justice, duty, honor, strength, education, intelligence, humor, and his unrelenting love.
