Harold E. Donnell of Overland Park, KS, passed away May 14, 2011. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS, 66210. The family suggests memorial contributions to Nall Avenue Baptist Church, 6701 Nall Avenue, Prairie Village, KS, 66208.
Harold was born August 22, 1919 in Warsaw, MO. Harold served 4 years in the Army during WWII. He retired from the Corps of Engineers in 1981 and spent a great deal of time traveling the world. He also enjoyed growing daylilies and various flowers on the half acre he owned. Harold was a member of Nall Avenue Baptist Church, National Association of Active & Retired Federal employees, Brown and Gold Club and MO-KAN Daylily Club.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kate Donnell; sisters, O’Dessa Claxton and Dealia Moor. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lucille; three nephews; and a host of friends.
