Harold "Hal" Leroy Hodges, age 73, of Overland Park, Kansas went home to be with the Lord on March 6th, 2012.
Born near Dearing, Kansas, he was the son of Leroy and Pearl Hodges. He graduated from Field Kinley High School in Coffeyville, Kansas, and attended Wichita State University. He married Catherine "Kitty" Hodges in Athens, Greece, where he was stationed with the Air Force.
Harold had a long career in the field of technology. For many years he worked in IT at J.F. Pritchard in Kansas City and he retired as the Director of Information Technology for the Lawrence Unified School District.
He is survived by his former wife, Catherine Hodges of Athens, Greece; daughter, Renee Hodges, of Overland Park, Kansas; son, Dr. Jason Hodges, M.D. of Lees Summit, Missouri; brother, Jack Hodges of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; three grandsons, Stefan Papakostopoulos, Dino Papakostopoulos, and Hayden Hodges. He was predeceased by his sister, Wilma Gordon of Wilmington, Delaware, and by his brother, Jerry Hodges of Raymond, California.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 7:30 PM at the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, Wesley Chapel, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, KS, 66224.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to The Harold L. Hodges Memorial Fund, to benefit his grandchildren's education c/o Metcalf Bank. Hal was also blessed by the prayer, fellowship, and spiritual support of the Church of the Resurrection Silver Links Ministry: contributions may be made to the church in his name.
