Harold W. Ruch is now walking with the Lord. Harold passed August 1.2014 at the Good Samaritan of Olathe Kansas from complications of Parkinsons disease.
He was born on May 15, 1928 to Thelma and Harold E. Ruch in Saint Joseph, Missouri. He grew up in St. Joseph, MO, where he attended, Central High School, Saint Joseph Jr. College and the University of Missouri.
On July 19, 1952 Harold married his high school sweetheart, Joan Margaret Crowe at the Huffman Memorial Methodist Church.
Harold was a member of Cherokee Christian Church for 60 years. He served faithfully in the ministry of this church and was honored Elder Emeritus.
Harold worked as planning manager for Crown Zelerbach Rigid Plastics and was named Boss of the Year in 1978 by the Harry S. Truman Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association.
LT. Co Harold W. Ruch also was logistics planning officer for the 139th Tactical Airlift Group. He served the Air Force reserves for 32 Years. He was a member of the Missouri National Guard Assoc, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Harold worked for Landoll Corporation Management Productions Inventory Control until 1990 and then retired and he and his wife returned to Overland Park, Kansas
Harold enjoyed Golf,Antique collecting, refinishing furniture and whatever his children or grand children were involved with.
A man who adored his wife and always referred to her as his bride. Harold had an amazing sense of humor; even as his disease progressed he always made you feel special, by a positive comment or a warm smile.
He is preceded in death by his parents, an identical twin Jarold W. Ruch who passed 2008, nephews Nathan and Randal Ruch, and his beloved grandson Jason Villarreal.
He is survived by loving wife of 63 years Margaret Joan Ruch. Children, Rod Ruch and his bride to be Geri Townsend, Jane Danforth and her husband Doug, Renee Haren and her husband Wells. Grand children: Charles Haren(Cassie), Maggie Haren, Joel Villarreal,Justin Villarreal(Erin Villarreal) Great Grand children identical twins Laura Jane and Haley Ann Villarreal.
