Harold W. Voth, MD, died peacefully on January 2, 2015 in Kansas City, MO.
Dr. Voth was born in 1921 and spent his childhood in Newton, KS. He earned a B.S. from McPherson College and attended University of Kansas Medical School, where he received a medical degree with honors and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
He served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force before beginning a career practicing medicine in Kansas City that spanned 38 years. After his retirement from private practice, Dr. Voth continued to serve the Kansas City community through his work at the Kansas City Free Clinic, serving Meals on Wheels, and through his involvement at Old Mission United Methodist Church.
Dr. Voth was a gardener, fisherman and photographer who enjoyed travel.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise; children Bill (wife Laura), Anne (husband Steve) and Lisa (husband Bill); three grandchildren, Lindsay, Courtney and Trevor; and sister Marilyn Carr.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at Old Mission United Methodist Church, 5519 State Park Road, Fairway, KS, 66205 followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to Old Mission United Methodist Church or St. Luke’s Foundation, 4225 Baltimore Avenue, Kansas City, MO, 64111.
