Harriett F. Taylor, Lenexa, Ks. Passed away December 6, 2017. Harriett was born April 26, 1923 in LaGrange, Ga.
She graduated from Lakeland High School and joined the Navy in 1945. She received training as a lab technician and was stationed at the Naval Hospital in Key West, Fl. She met Everett J. Taylor while he was a patient there. They were married September 10, 1946. She graduated from Kansas State University with a B.S. in Medical Technology in 1947.
Harriett was a devoted and loving stay at home mother. She enjoyed traveling and went on 3 African photo safaris. She was a long time member of Asbury UMC. With her support her sons achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Harriett was a Girl Scout leader when Georgia was in the program. She enjoyed being a docent at the Kansas City zoo for many years. Harriett was an avid beach comber always searching for unique shells and sharks teeth.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, two sisters, brother, a son, Tim, a daughter, Georgia and her husband, Everett. She is survived by sons Tom and Rex (Mary) both of OP, Ks. and son-in-law Gary Stanko of Olathe. Grand children Bryan (Shannon) Thomas, Lindy (Devon) Hayes, Adam (Amy) Taylor, Meghan (Nick) Senatore, Molly (Kyle) Spencer, and Brandon Taylor. Great grandchildren Lane, Alex, Madison, Kobe, Elle, Jackson, Ali, Reece, Brooklyn, Andersen, Charleston and Lawson.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 12th at Asbury UMC in Prairie Village, with a Celebration of Her Life starting at 2:00 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church.
