Harry J. Casaert, 92, formerly of Stilwell, Kansas, passed away September 28, 2015, at his home in Freeman, Missouri. Harry was born August 5, 1923 to Victor J. and Alida Delaere Casaert.
Harry grew up on the family farm in Overland Park and retired as a foreman from Overland Park Lumber Company in Overland Park after 30 years. Harry loved to be outdoors observing nature, watching birds, fishing, hunting, gardening, and was an enthusiastic lifelong baseball fan.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Louise Casaert and his daughter, Judith Kay Casaert, as well as his parents, two sisters, Magdalena Casaert and Hilda Ceule, and his brother, Philemon V. Casaert. He is survived by his son John (Susan) Casaert, Freeman, MO; his beloved granddaughters, Kaitlynn and Laura, both of Freeman, MO; a brother, Arthur Casaert of Stilwell, KS; and a sister, Josephine Casaert of Overland Park, KS; along with many other family members and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, October 2, 2015 at Queen of the Holy Rosary, 22779 Metcalf Road, Bucyrus, KS. A Rosary will be said at 9:15 AM and there will be a gathering of family and friends at 9:30 AM. Interment will take place in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
