Harry Radke

Harry D. Radke, 73, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital in Gardner, Friday afternoon, February 22. He was diagnosed with A.L.S. in March of 2007 and died from complications due to the disease.

Harry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joanne Radke, of Gardner, Kansas; and his two daughters, Julie Radke- Giammalva (Vincent) of Gladstone, Missouri and Janet Mayo (Chris) of Gardner, Kansas; two grandchildren, Angela Giammalva and Luke Mayo. He is also survived by one sister, Helen Nuss of Powell, Wyoming and two brothers, Thomas Radke of Wichita, Kansas and Robert "Larry" Radke of Shawnee, Kansas.

Harry was born and raised on a farm near Russell, Kansas. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957. He worked for 30 years as an Electronics Technician for the Federal Aviation Administration in Olathe, Kansas and lived there before retiring to Sun City West, Arizona in 1993.

A celebration of Harry's life will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 25 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park. Entombment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Courtyard of Memories Mausoleum. A gathering of family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, February 24 at the chapel.
