Mr. Hassan Orangkhadivi

March 24, 1922 — January 9, 2016

Hassan Orangkhadivi, 93, was born March 24, 1922 to Najafgholikhan  Dunboli and Sakineh in Tabriz, Iran.  He was married to Fatemeh Seyedghazanfar for 62 years.  Hassan served 35 years in the military.  During that time he worked as a military court stenographer, recording the famous Mohammad Mossadegh Trials.  He served many years in human resources assisting military veterans and military widows, striving to help those who had been forgotten.  In addition he was part of airport security at Tehran International Airport.  In 1976 he immigrated to America.  In his free time he loved researching Iranian history, traveling and compiling family history and photos.
Hassan and his wife were often scolded by friends and neighbors for taking strangers and the homeless into their house to help them get on their feet.  His son recalls walking in the rain with Hassan and encountering a dejected man with no coat.  Hassan took him into the local bakery, emptied the pockets of his own coat, took it off and gave it to the man, sending him on his way with several loaves of bread.   He always said that even if you yourself are sad or poor you can find a way to help others.
He leaves behind his children, Zahra, (Abbas) Kia, Yousseff, Hossein (Cathy), Ali (Linda), Mohammad (Shaunna) and Hagi as well as 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.  His daughter, Soghra and son, Safar, died as infants.
His family would like to thank all of the beautiful medical personnel that have cared for him so lovingly over the past few years.  A special thank you to the people of Olathe Hospice House who served him as if he was their own father.  Hassan deeply appreciated the way Americans welcomed him with open arms.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the Norooz Foundation, PO Box 471481, Charlotte, NC  28247   Norooz.org
