Helen Elda Harper Nelson born January 24, 1915 in La Junta Colorado passed away May 11, 2015. She was 100 years old and lived most of her life in Overland Park Kansas, as well as 15 years in Beatrice, Nebraska. Helen was employed at Katz Drug Company for 20 years as a cosmetician and retired in 1953 from the Linwood and Troost store. She was a member of Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Road in Prairie Village, Kansas.
Helen was a member of; P.E.O. chapter H J of Johnson County Kansas, Mission Belles China Painters of Roeland Park, Kansas; Women’s Scandinavian Society; and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was married to Ivan J. Nelson for 55 years until his passing. She is survived by her daughter Klara Dow and Husband Riecke of Greenwood, Missouri, grandson Travis Dow of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and one great granddaughter Ivanna Rose Dow.
