Helen Sweany

Helen Sweany, 93, of Olathe, KS
passed away February 2nd at Homestead
Living Center.  Helen was born May
5th 1922 in Canton Ohio.  She was the
daughter of Arthur and Katherine
Kandel.  She married Martin Sweany in
1940.  In 1947 they left Ohio and lived
In Florida and Arizona, before settling in
San Diego, where they lived for 44 years.

After her husband retired they traveled
extensively around the country in their
motor home. They also traveled in Europe
and the UK.  They settled in the Kansas
City area in 1995.

Helen loved working with her hands and
knitted and crocheted many lap
robes and blankets for shut-ins.  She
attended the Methodist Church of the
Resurrection for many years.  She was
preceded in death by her husband of 66
years, son Gary, and Grandson Justin
Sweany.

She is survived by daughter Patricia Bartnett
and husband Clem of Overland Park, KS, son
Arthur Sweany and wife Vickie of Pensacola
Beach FL. Sisters Frieda Thrash of Ocala Fl.
, Ruby Bair of Canton OH. Also four grand
children, and eight great grandchildren

Mrs. Sweany will be cremated and a private
Family service will follow.  In lieu of flowers
