Helen Towster, age 94, of Overland Park, KS and Barrington, IL, passed away on July 3, 2019 at Wauconda Care in Wauconda, IL.
Helen was born in 1925 in Poland where she met and married her husband of 61 years, Izak. In 1969, Helen, her husband, and their three sons immigrated to the United States and settled in Kansas City. Helen lived a long and meaningful life, surviving the ravages of World War II, the challenges of communism in Soviet-ruled Poland, and finally making the United States her home, where the family thrived. She loved her family, neighbors, and her Catholic faith. She loved life and people and was a very gentle and giving person. Helen will be remembered by the flourishing family she raised, for the kindness she so readily offered, for the inexhaustible perseverance for life, love, and for doing what’s right.

She is survived by her son Henry and his wife Lucy; her son Mark and his wife Lori; her son Mirek and his wife Alicja; her grandchildren, Tim, Michelle and husband Robert Ross, Khristina, Michael, Derek and wife Melanie Henderson, David, and Mark; her great granddaughters, Gwyneth Towster and Hope Ross.
