HELLEN LOUISE (DAFFER) AUSTIN, 81, DeSoto, KS passed away October 28, 2012 at the Kansas City Hospice House.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2012. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 21515 W. 101st Street, Lenexa, KS 66220. Internment will follow at Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Mrs. Austin worked for Sunflower Army Ammunitions Plant, DuPont, and Butler Construction Company.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal Dean Austin.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Keehn and her husband, Rob and Evelyn Smith and her husband, Bill; a son, Jim Austin and his wife, Tammy; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother Raymond Daffer and her sister, Opal Souza both of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and numerous nieces; nephews and cousins.
