Homer J. Hanna, 90, of Roeland Park, KS, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014.
There will be a private family service. An inurnment will take place at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS.
Homer was born in Ottawa, KS, on July 5, 1923, to Raymond and Ruth (Olsen) Hanna. He graduated from Carthage, MO High School in 1941. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and served as a pilot in World War II.
He was united in marriage to Maxine Wallick on September 8, 1945, in Midland, TX. He attended the University of Arkansas, graduating in 1949 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company for 37 years, retiring in 1985.
Homer was a lifetime member of ASME and the Engineers Club of Kansas City. He volunteered his time to ARCare, Inc, an advocacy and service organization for handicapped citizens.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Maxine (Wallick) Hanna, and son, Raymond Hanna, of Lenexa, KS.
