Howard L. Hawkins, 85, Mission, passed away Monday, May 28.
Howard was born September 7, 1921 in Gower, MO. He graduated from Marceline, MO high school in 1941. From 1942-1945 he served in the Army Air Corps as a Tail Gunner on a B-17 over Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Tommy and Colleen Hawkins; and brother, Carl L. Hawkins. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Norma; children, Jeff, Pam, Jenny, and Bobby; and 7 grandchildren, Joe, Matt, Jason, Brian, Spencer, Danny, and Valarie.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 1st, at 2 p.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
