Howard Bernard Pfaff, 75, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at his home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5 at Christ the King Catholic Church (8510 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, MO). Visitation will be held one hour prior to service from 9-10 a.m. Burial will be at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens (11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, Hospice of Kansas City, or the American Cancer Society.
Howard was born July 12, 1934 in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a Heavy Equipment Operating Engineer and retired from Dasta Construction Company. He enjoyed many sports and was an avid Royals baseball and Chiefs football fan. He was an extremely honest, hard working, strong willed and good hearted person. Howard was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Pfaff, sister Evelyn A. Angel and son Timothy W. Pfaff. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Helen of 42 years, as well as sons: Paul, David, Dale, and Lenny Pfaff, daughters: Amber Murphy, Tina Pfaff, and Brenda Rush, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers Dwaine and Elton Pfaff, sisters Karen Tomc and Mary Beth Thomas as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
