Howard L. Weigman, 79, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Pinnacle Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Olathe, KS.
He was born on January 21, 1934, in Weston, MO, to Donald H. and Opal Mae (Allen) Weigman. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1956 and was stationed in Etain and Toul, France. He attained the rank of Corporal with the 55th Transportation Co. Med Truck Petroleum. He worked for the city of Overland Park Public Works for 30 years (retired) as Sign Technician, and Crosswalk Guard. Howard was a longtime member of Oak Grove Assembly Church for over 40 years and served as an elder and head usher for 25 years.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Maxine R. Weigman, on March 6, 1987 and his parents.
He is survived by his second wife of 25 years, Iva Lorraine Weigman; sister, Peggy Schanze; son, Howard E. (Nancy) Weigman; 4 daughters, Donna Mae (Jerry) Van Winkle, Sheri Harding, Peggy Harding and Donna Brunner; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many friends.
A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Oak Grove Assembly Church, 4740 Mohawk Dr, Roeland Park, KS 66205. A private inurnment will take place at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Shawnee, KS.
