Imogene Owens

Imogene Owens, 82, Overland Park, KS joined her Savior in Heaven on Friday, November 2, 2007 while a resident of the Heritage Hall Nursing Facility in Centralia, MO.

She was born January 17, 1925 on her family?s farm near West Fork, AR, the daughter of Emsley Ellis and Julia Deaton. Imogene retired from the Shawnee Mission School District following thirty years of service as the Cafeteria Manager at Trailridge Middle School. She was member of Armour Heights Baptist Church for forty years and most recently Holmeswood Baptist Church for the past five years.

Imogene was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Linza R. Owens, granddaughter Kendra Cornelison, parents Emsley Ellis and Julia Deaton, three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include daughter Loanna Cornelison and husband Ron, daughter Judy Malloy and husband John, granddaughter Shannon Sterbach and husband James, granddaughter Michelle Mustain and husband Mark, grandson Chris Malloy and wife JennRose, sister Norma Lee Hardy of Anaheim, CA, brother Keith Deaton of Olathe, KS, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 at DW Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, with her pastor, Dr. Keith Herron officiating. Visitation will be from 11-12 p.m. prior to the service. Contributions are suggested to Holmeswood Baptist Church, 9700 Holmes, Kansas City, MO 64131.
