June Burke, 87, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 24 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Private inurnment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS.
June was born August 7, 1920 in East St. Louis, MO. She was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. Her background was in art, having been employed by Hall Brothers, the Calvin Company and the U.S. Army Map Services in her early years. She was also a frequent exhibitor in the Plaza Art Fair.
June was preceded in death by her husband, J. William Burke and two sisters, Evelyn Hall and Mayme Sippel. She is survived by her son, Martin and daughter-in-law, Cecilia, and grandchildren, Kevin, Allison and Meredith, of Lawrence, KS.
