Mr. Jack Horn

Jack C. Horn, 78, Grain Valley, MO passed away Friday, November 14, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 20, 2008 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First United Methodist Church, 301 SW Woods Chapel, Blue Springs, MO 64015 for the purchase of volleyball equipment.
Jack was born August 31, 1930 in Ravanna, MO to Thomas and Erda Lee Horn. He graduated from DeSoto High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy. He was then a pilot instructor at the Kansas City Downtown Airport. He furthered his education at Baker University and graduated with a degree in Marine Biology. He volunteered a lot of his time at local hospitals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosa in 1990; brothers Wayne and Wade; son, Charles “Chuck” in 2006; daughter, Peggy in 2008; and grandson Ryan.
He is survived by his sister, Donna Lee; brother, Robert Horn; son, Paul; daughters, Diane (Dennis) Gregg, and Linda (Donald) Freund; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be missed by his many friends and family.
