Jack E. Long, 94, passed away October 6, 2015. A private graveside will be held at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be 1:30 pm Friday, October 9th at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Ave., Overland Park, KS 66207.
Jack was born in Emporia, KS on August 31, 1921. He attended Emporia State University playing basketball. After graduating, Jack enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII and the Pacific Theater as 2nd Lieutenant. After his active duty, he served in the reserves for many more years. Jack worked for Bendix Corporation for 32 years.
He is survived by his son, Steven Long; daughters, Kathy (Marc) Connor, Susan (Larry) Krakow; 3 grandchildren, Megan (Luke) Casey, Brett (Regan) Coberly, Amanda Connor; great grandson, Charlie Casey; brother, Robert (Jan) Long; sister, Betty (Dale) Thorne; and many nieces and nephews.
