JACQUE ALFERS JACOBS
After a 3 ½ year battle, Jacque Jacobs succumbed to ovarian cancer on December 11, 2008. Those who knew Jacque were forever changed. She was an extraordinary wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Everyone was the beneficiary of her generosity of time, of deed, and of spirit. Hers was a life well lived with the grace, dignity, and humility of an unselfish and gentle soul.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at the Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Avenue, Leawood, KS. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM.
Jacque is survived by her husband, her mother, her father, three brothers, two sisters, 14 nieces & nephews, her mother-in-law, and her sister-law.
Her family would like to recognize and thank Drs. Julia Chapman & Jeannie Drisko and their medical teams along with all the other caregivers at the University of Kansas Hospital, the Kansas University Cancer Center, and the Kansas University Medical Center for the extraordinary skills and compassion displayed during the treatment of her illness.
The family would also like to thank Kansas City Hospice House & Palliative Care for their special skills during the end stages of her disease.
Finally, the family would like to thank all of Jacque’s friends for their support and prayers. You were a source of continuing comfort to her throughout her fight.
