JACQUELINE “JACI” ANN CRONENWETT
Jaci, 79, passed away on December 14, 2020 at Santa Marta Retirement Community. Services will be held at Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th Street, OP, KS 66213 on Tuesday, Dec. 22nd. Visitation at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., followed by Inurnment in the Courtyard of Memories Indoor Mausoleum at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorials in her memory can be given to Ascension or a charity of your choice.
Jaci was born on April 10, 1941 to Charles and Jean Nickelman in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. She grew up in the Western Suburbs of Chicago where she met her husband-to-be Fritz. Fritz and Jaci were married for 47 years before Fritz’s passing in 2008.
Jaci had a zest for life that included lots of pool time, travel, golf, and weekends at the Lake of The Ozarks. She attended Mount Marty College and received her degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas. Her professional career included 15 years at Cosmopolitan International as Office Manager and later Executive Director. She also retired from Sprint Publishing in 2003 where she served in Internal Communications.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz, daughter, Cathy Rohr, parents, Charles and Jean Nickelman, and her brother, “Bud” Nickleman.
Jaci is survived by her 2 children, F.J. (Sheryl) Cronenwett of Overland Park, KS, Kurt (Kim) Cronenwett of Prairie Village, KS, and Son-in-law Troy Rohr of Dallas, TX,. She also has 8 grandchildren; Courtney Cronenwett, Derek Cronenwett, Megan Lopez, Erica Mudd, Jake Cronenwett, Annie Cronenwett, Charlie Cronenwett and Kate Cronenwett. And 2 great grandchildren; Riley Lopez and Fitz Mudd.
Jaci lived a long and full life as a very sincere, thoughtful, and generous person. She started nearly every conversation with “How is everyone in your family doing?”, and she truly cared. Jaci spent her final years at Santa Marta Retirement Community in Olathe, KS. She was a devout Catholic and will be welcomed by her husband and daughter in Heaven. We will miss you Mom/Nana until we meet again!
