Mr. James Kilcoyne

James F. Kilcoyne, 86, Overland Park, passed away October 19, 2009. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall, Kansas City, MO 64114. James was born Jan. 4, 1923, in Scranton, Penn., to John and Ann Ferrick Kilcoyne. He joined the Navy and served in World War II. He was a lifelong member of the VFW and was also a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. James and his wife Ruth moved to the Kansas City area six years ago to be closer to his family. He was preceded in death by his brother, John; and sister, Kathleen. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ruth; son, John Kilcoyne; granddaughter, Christy (Eric) Hoehn; and grandson, Eric (Alyson) Kilcoyne.
