James Kent (JP) Pruitt, 52, Olathe, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, at home from heart failure.
James was born on July 15, 1955, in Springfield, Illinois. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School and was employed by George Fern Co.
He was preceded in death by his father Lynn. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth; daughters, Brittney and Brooke and son, Justin; mother, Marianne; sisters, Joan, Colleen and Teri; brother, Taylor and wife Debbie and their children, Jordan and Jacob; son, Bryan and wife Lisa and their children, Lauren and Lindsay; daughter, Lisa and husband Paul and their children, Alexis and Anna.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children of Jim Pruitt Education Fund c/o Credit Union of Johnson County, 14280 W. 135th St., Olathe, KS 66062.
