Jim was born Jan. 5, 1938, to Della Ella (White) Stroud and Cecil James Stroud in Kansas City, Kan.
Jim was the youngest of three children. He grew up in Wyandotte County in a small plot of land up from the river. He attended Washington High School but did not graduate. He worked at the Fina Station at 59th and Leavenworth Road through his early 20’s. Jim joined the Plumbers Local 8 Union at the suggestion of a friend and retired in 2000.
Jim was united in marriage to Karen Irene Williams in 1958. They shared 63 years of marriage. This union was blessed with one daughter, Lynda Diane and two sons, Daniel Wayne and Darryl Warren. They made their home in Roeland Park, Kan., since 1967.
Jim was proud to be a union plumber and worked on many projects in Kansas City including the Truman Sports Complex. He also found work in Arizona and Washington to support his family. He liked to hunt pheasant, quail, and morel mushrooms. He also liked to fish, for crappie mostly. And of course, he loved his grandkids and great grandkids. His eyes would light up when he saw them.
