James G. Thomas Jr., 88, Lenexa, Kansas passed away March 13, 2010. He was born June 16, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri. Jim was a WWII Veteran serving in Italy for the U.S. Air Force. He was married to Lois Cunningham on February 14, 1942 and together they had one son, David D. Thomas. Jim retired from Hallmark Cards in 1983.
Left to cherish Jim’s memory is his wife of 68 years, Lois; son, David and his wife Linda Thomas; two grandsons, Rob Thomas and Jeff and his wife Jenny Thomas; two great granddaughters, Katie and Sara Thomas; and two sisters, Frances Colaw and Shirley Canole.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Hillcrest Christian Church, 11411 Quivira Rd., Overland Park. Interment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Hillcrest Christian Church or American Cancer Society.
