Jamie Dolores (Wells) Futrelle, 82, of Rio Verde, Arizona, passed away on February 27th, 2015 at her home in Rio Verde, from natural causes.
Jamie was born March 19th, 1932, in Pollock, Missouri to Jack and Irene Wells.
Jamie was married to her high school sweetheart, Dwight Futrelle on January 26th, 1951. They have three children, David Futrelle of Olathe KS, Dee Dungan of Rio Verde AZ, and Dana Reichmuth of Olathe KS.
Over the years they lived in Des Moines, Kansas City, Minneapolis and Rio Verde, always referring to Kansas City as home base.
Jamie was involved in various organizations and charities throughout her life including the March of Dimes, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts.
She enjoyed golf and life at Rio Verde where they lived on the 8th hole of the golf course. She loved college sports and especially the rivalry between her son (Kansas) and her daughters (K-State). Her love for Rio Verde took her into the field of Real Estate and she took great pride in her contributions to the community.
Jamie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald; and sister, Marilyn.
Jamie is survived by her husband Dwight; son, David and his wife Donna; daughters, Dee and her husband John and Dana and her husband Todd; five grandchildren, Rebecca and her husband Jonathan, Megan, Alycia and Collin, Patrick and Timothy; three great grandchildren Landon, Ellie, and Liam; and her step mother Mary Wells.
Jamie will be missed by her Husband, Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grand Children but they all take solace in the memories and love she left behind.
The family will greet friends at 12:00 PM on Saturday March 14th, 2015 with services to follow at 1:00 PM, at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kansas 66210. Interment will follow in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the March of Dimes.
