Jane Cook, age 65, of Lenexa, KS passed away on February 21, 2012. She was born on August 31, 1946 in KC, MO, the daughter of Rose (Bowdler) and Samuel Allen Beach. She attended Southwest High School in KC, MO and graduated from SMSU in 1969. Jane married Delmer Cook on June 26, 1970 in KC, MO. Jane was a devout Christian who served Christ through Stephen Ministries and was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Overland Park. She taught kindergarten and first grade for 32 years throughout the KC and Shawnee Mission areas. Jane enjoyed walking, hiking and loved the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. She loved cheering on her two sons in their various activities. Jane traveled the United States to follow Delmer Cook and The Last Chance Band, her son Max and his band Tailgunner and Robert and his band Tiger.
Survivors include her husband, Delmer Cook of the home; sons Robert Cook and Max (Rayane) Cook both of Overland Park, KS; one grandchild, Elliott Cook; one brother, Dan (Buanna) Beach of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Allen Beach.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 25 at Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W. 95th St, Overland Park, KS. Burial will be held in Hoisington, KS. Visitation will be held from 7:00-9:00 PM, Friday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 3846 West 75th Street Prairie Village, KS 66208 or to the Special Olympics of Kansas, 5280 Foxridge Drive Shawnee Mission, KS 66202.
