Janet L. (Coulter) Yelton Callahan, age 83, passed away on March 2, 2015. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2015, in the indoor mausoleum of the Johnson County Chapel. Janet was born June 22, 1931 in Kansas City, Missouri to Bernice and Donald R. Coulter. She was a Tri Delta sister at KU where she studied voice. She married Donald Rex Yelton and had 4 children. Steve (Nora) of Albuquerque, NM, Dave (Linda) of Sunrise Beach, MO, Donna of Overland Park and Martha of Overland Park. She was active in the PTA, Cub Scouts and was a Girl Scout Leader and a Den mother while her children were growing up. After the death of Don in 1971 she opened CustomHouse Draperies, and interior design/drapery fabrication business. She married Edward Callahan in 1974 and continued CustomHouse Draperies until after Ed’s death (1990) until 1999. She leaves behind her 4 children, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She was a loving mother with a back of steel. She is greatly missed and much loved.
