Janet Elaine Schulte, 82, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 1st at Bethany Lutheran Church, 9101 Lamar, Overland Park, KS. Burial in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, Shawnee, KS. Visitation will be from 5-7:00P.M. on Tuesday evening at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of donor?s choice.
Janet was born October 23, 1925 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. She married Charles Schulte on October 9, 1948 in Sheboygan. She was a resident of Overland Park for 47 years and she worked in the counselor?s office at Shawnee Mission South High School for over 15 years. She was very active in her church, Bethany Lutheran, where she was a member for 47 years. There she was in the Deborah Circle and volunteered for many charitable activities. Janet loved a good game of golf with her husband and close friends and was a member of Quivira Country Club. Janet was a fixture in her neighborhood, where she will be missed. Her favorite activity though was that of being a grandmother to her seven grandchildren. She was a great mother, a great sister, grandmother and she was a good Christian woman. May she rest in peace.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Schulte, who passed away September 22, 2005.
She is survived by children, Denise Adams of New York, NY; Duane Schulte and wife Cathie of Newtown Square, PA and Douglas Schulte and wife, Molly of Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren, Karl, Kayla, Kurt, Ana, Sophie, Ben and William; sister, Carol Buschmann.
