Janice Couch

Janice Marie Couch was born on Aug. 6, 1954, in Kansas City, MO.  She was the daughter of John and Arlene (Parks) Whitehead. She married Major General (Ret) Gregory Eugene Couch on May 28, 1976, in Overland Park, Kansas.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend to many. She was a member of First Assembly of God for many years.   She enjoyed her weekly walks at Wal-Mart, traveling with her travel buddies and spending time with her family and especially watching her grandchildren play sports.  She was their biggest fan! She was called home on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Olathe Medial Center at the age of 62.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Arlene (Parks) Whitehead, and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris (Hedges) and Melvin Couch, and grandparents.  Janice is survived by her husband Major General (Ret) Gregory Eugene Couch, her son SFC Bradley Christopher Couch and wife Amy Louise Couch of Spring Hill, Kansas and daughter Amy Christine Highfill and husband Joshua Howard Highfill of Augusta, Kansas and  her four favorite grandchildren Corey Christopher Couch, Jett Howard Highfill, Annabelle Louise Michael, and Gunner David Highfill, her father John Whitehead, her sister Susan (Whitehead) Marselus and her husband Randy Marselus, her brother Scott Whitehead and his wife Paula (Hawkins) Whitehead and many other loved family members.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 6pm-8pm and funeral services will be Saturday, January 14th at 10:00 am both at Overland Park First Assembly of God, 7700 W. 75th St. Overland Park, Kansas.  Burial will be at Shawnee Mission Memorial Gardens in Shawnee, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Church of Hope, 841 Minnesota Ave, Kansas City, KS with services streaming live on OPAG.CC.
