Janie M. Carney, 66, Fairway, Kansas, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2008 at her home.
A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9, at Christ Community Church, 14200 Kenneth Road, Leawood, Kansas. Cremation, private inurnment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Courtyard of Memories Mausoleum.
Janie was born February 27, 1943 to Kendall and Doris (Cox) Harrison in Atchison, Kansas. She lived in the Kansas City area most of her life and graduated from Westport High School. Janie worked for a time as a paraprofessional for the blind. She loved nature and the outdoors, to travel, and watch her sons play the various sports they were involved in.
She is survived by Dale, her husband of 47 years; sons, Chris and Terry; sister, Carolyn Koepke; and 6 grandchildren, Ethan, Harrison, Olivia, Jaci, Jaxon, and Tanner. Arrangements, D. W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 913-451-1860.
