Dr. Jardon Strnad, 85, Overland Park, Kansas died Wednesday, May 25, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, 9300 Nall Ave., Overland Park, Kansas. A private family inurnment will take place in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Indoor Courtyard of Memories. Jardon was born in Montrose, Kansas to Charles Henry and Bertha Beiter Strnad. He graduated from Belleville KS High School and then went on to attend KU prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Forces. He was married to Barbara Kearney in 1950 in Wichita, Kansas. After leaving the military he returned to KU and then attended Wichita State University. He then graduated from UMKC Dental School with a DDS in 1961 and received a Certificate of Orthodontics in 1963. He practiced orthodontics for 20 years in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Strnad taught orthodontics at UMKC, was honored as Orthodontist of the year by UMKC, and was a member of various dental and civic and fraternal organizations. He was also a member of Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara of the home; daughter, Sarah Strnad and her husband Joe Hemmer of the Kansas City area; son, Philip Strnad and his wife Lori of the Kansas City area; grandchildren, Avery and Carter Strnad; and sister, Nelda Davis of Mt.
