Jared (Jim) Fletcher Skidmore, III., a proud and loyal member of the greatest generation, died on Jan. 3, 2009.
A celebration of his life will take place at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS, on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 10:30 a.m. The family will greet friends following the service in Fellowship Hall.
Jim was born Nov. 27, 1919 in Kansas City, MO, and attended Westport High School and Missouri Valley College. After WWII he returned to K.C. and began his career in the office equipment industry, first with the John A. Marshall Co. and then as Branch Manager for Acme Visible Records. He was a charter member of Homestead Country Club and Village Presbyterian Church.
Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Katie, and his wife, Ellie. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy; niece, Carole, and her husband, Jim; and two great nieces, Debbie and Denine. Jim lived well, laughed often and loved generously.
